This may not apply to the H2 but.....I have a 95 Neon that I pretty much re-built
mechanically as a project and to also help with the $4.00 plus a gallon gas prices we had for a while
The last bit of problem I had to clear up was a code saying it was running lean. And one of the possible causes (but was not mine) for the neon to throw that code was a known problem of a cracked exhaust manifold and I do know that our H2's got a nasty habit of having the heads of the exhaust manifold bolts to break off. Maybe you have "many" of them broke and now have an exhaust leak causing the computer to throw the lean condition code.
This is just a thought and may not even be your cause but may be worth a look.
