Your right. I have a Jeep Cherokee. The fulltime 4WD was only available on the older Cherokees with the automatic tranny and it was called the Quadra Track system. A separate handle on the center console allows manual selection of 2 wheel Hi, 4 wheel fulltime (can be used on hard pavement0, 4 wheel part time (for off road), and 4 wheel low range.
