A little clunk into gear is normal. Remember in each diff you have gear lash(play) then in the t-case also gear lash. Once again there is gear lash in the transmission. When put into gear the lash has to be taken up in all components which will relate to a clunk. When you shift from park to rev, rev to drive or any other shift, modules need time to communicate and hydraulic fluid has to be re-directed in the valve body so you dont gat an immediate engagement into gear. All your symptoms are very normal, no worries
