It has many features that the stock unit doesn't... voice recognition, pronunciation of street names, hard-drive based, rips CD's to hard drive, bluetooth hands free phone integration, rear-view camera, DVD playback, and more... all for about the same price as the stock unit with careful shopping (~$2k).
