Peripherral and PAC have merged, when I called their tech department to get a new vehicle specific harness for my A0EM amp interface I asked which unit was better since both were on the website..... the tech replied they are the same, different product badging for different vendors.

I had the Nucleus in my 2006 which gave control of the ipod from the Navi touch screen, I know it had a bad rap since it would occasionally make the warning chimes go off as well as illuminated the instrument clusters "dummy" lights. This new unit coupled with the 2008+ navi unit is amazing as I feel it gives way more user friendly control as far as navigating through the playlists, artists etc.... along with being able to fully contron from the steering wheel controls. I also like the fact you can retain your XM as well as add HD radio should you choose. Your friend will love this thing after you get it installed in his truck
