Re: Recall - Heated Windshield Washer Fluid
As I explained on the other post, and will explain here again: The "disconnect" means major surgery on your H2. It does not mean that they unplug something.
It involves GM cutting out the heated WW fluid system, and cutting the wiring harness, ww fluid tubing, etc. They do not simply disconnect it, they cut it out of the vehicle. Literally! For liability reasons....
I would prefer not to do that. It is going to be a huge mess! As you know, this is a 2nd recall for the same thing. They failed once already. Now they say, we can't fix it, so we will just remove it. I say, NO WAY, since they do not know what they are doing!
My original question above stands:
Is there a simple way to disconnect the unit form the electrical system, in such a way as to prevent it catching on fire, and yet leave it in the vehicle? If so, where is the disconnect point? What actually catches on fire, a module or wiring? Can the system be simply disabled by removing ALL electrical current from the heated WW system, and just leave it in the vehicle? Does it have its own dedicated fused circuit, or not? Where is this unit located, so that I can attend to it?
Still NO ANSWER to my question. Any GM techs out there?
