The higher temp is likely due to the bypass (I'm installing the same as I'm in North Dakota) - there is a thermostat in there and that's likely "leveling" the tranny fluid temps. To be honest - 175F constant is a great temp. Not too cold and not too warm. Wish it was more like 150F or 160F, but that's not bad.
On another note, just got mine (w/bypass) yesterday. Hoping to get it installed this weekend.
