MVR_155, you brought up a few pertinent facts that I neglected in my original post:
* I had cruise control on the whole trip (except for city driving, a few stops and a bad UPS truck accident in the Virgin River Gorge)
* I had A/C running the whole time (it was 100+ outside)
* I only use 87 octane and avoid ethanol whenever possible
* I bumped my tire pressures from 37 to 39 before leaving
