I am willing to bet that your bouncing is due to bad Pitman or Idler arm (most likely the Idler arm) and not the shocks. With a worn out idler arm, the front wheels will have bump steer and cause significant front end bouncing as a result. Trust me on this - been there, done that!

Ask yourself this - what happens when you bounce an IFS front end? Answer, the wheels toe in and toe out. Now ask yourself what would be the result if the wheels toe'd in and toe'd out (worn pitman or Idler or both). Answer, the front end would have increased bounce!
