I'd be interested in following your progress on this. I had a thread last summer asking the same:

I ultimately decided that I'd prolly do it if there was a 'kit' or a proven, documented, illustrated outline of
how to do it. Even then I'd only take them off if I was going for a real off-road run. Keeping them off for any period of time would worry me too much...especially with all the granola-eating, tree-hugging, passive-aggressive whiner-babies in the MD/DC area. Someone would probably drop a big ole,
GREEN, fiber-rich steamer on my driver's seat then set the inside of the truck ablaze.
...that would be a bad day.
