I would agree...the stock rims are nice. They have a nice HD look, but I'm looking to eliminate the chrome. I thought about powder coating the stockers, but:
- It would be a hassled (removing the tires, transporting the rims, sandblasting the rims, transporting again, remounting the tires, etc.)
- I'm not really a big fan of how they look in black
- I run my wheels open hub (not a fan of hub caps either) and I just can't get past how the stockers 'look' like their suppose to have a cap
After an exhaustive search of every wheel vendor I could find, I must admit defeat. The ATX Mojaves (18") are gone...and the KMC Enduros, which were going to be my fallback have a very low load rating; so I nixed them too.
I never thought I'd say this, but I sit here now awaiting my Rockstars.
...the good thing is, while the Rockstars can be seen on many trucks in this forum, I have yet to see ANY truck rocking them in my area. So while I may be seen as a 'follower' on Elcova, I will be seen as a 'trend setter' in my neck of the woods. LOL!
