2005+ H2's had the new latch style tire carrier (introduced with the SUT, which had them as standard equipment). The older 03-04 models with tire carriers were produced by an aftermarket supplier for AM General and had the pin style. Go for the new style if you can get one...this 2007 would be the one to get if you want to convert to an external carrier
I just installed an 06 carrier and love it. Really easy to use and great fit.
