I agree that it will help keep it off
some of your truck. But remember, our trucks sit high...your's even higher now with the lift, so you're throwing a lot of that dirt UNDER your flare.
Check out the illustration I did with accely's ride...
The larger flares will definitely help the green section but the flare would still be missing all the crap that gets thrown under it toward the rest of the truck (depicted in brown...'cause dirt is usually
brown 
). And your 'brown' area will be much larger because your truck sits up higher, thus altering the angle that separates the two regions.
