If you remove the a-pillar trim panel(down the front left side of windshield inside) you can just pull headliner down enough to get hand in there(its tight) then you can reach it. smiley you are correct it is the inside air temp sensor. Other term for it is aspirator. If you remove it your auto temp controls will not work. Not a very expensive part from dealer and yes it does have a fan in it, that's what is causing the noise.
