While we are on this level of discussion:
Why is it that people would like to reinvent the wheel?
Tooling costs for a new vehicle is in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Even when parts bins are shared (like using an existing engine/tranny/transfer case combination), there are still costs involved that would require a minimum run of 40k vehicles per year for 3-4 years.
Secondly, I've rarely seen private sector industry using colleges to do their research. They pay millions of dollars to companies to do this type of entry level information gathering.
Third, I do find your spelling rather alarming for a ME. I know spell check is the norm nowadays, but as an engineer myself, I'm really worried about the type of engineers that are coming out of school.
