I drive my 97.5 H1 every day - work & the airport are my most common destinations, but I love driving it everywhere. (It's especially happy when I drive it off-road). It's never been an inconvenience. Once you have one, I'm sure you'll drive it every F'ing chance you get. BTW - If you are going to use the truck off-road in any capacity, avoid the early TT4 trucks (98-01). 97.5 & early 98 are the most coveted trucks because they're a little less expensive, have the upgraded HVAC, Monsoon systems & transfer case cooling loop, but are before the TT4 (which makes it impossible to lock all 4 wheels together (BTM) over off-road obstacles.


PS - I have kept up with the schuled A,B & C maintenance at 3k, 6k & 12k miles. The maintenance is not difficult & keeps you from having 95% of the problems you hear about people having with their H1's. Most "expensive" maintenance fixes are due to lack of regular maintenance, IMHO.
