Apparently, when trying to turn to the left, either I just didn't turn the wheels far enough, or they got caught and dragged to the right. The effect of which was that every time I tried moving forward (left & down w/ my tires pointed to the right) was that my tail end kept rising on me. I was unaware of this at the time (I thought I had my tires pointed in the right direction), and was probably heading for disaster if not for the keen eyes of those behind me. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Looks like it's time to get a new spotter!
