No problem with parts' supplies, except maybe from Delphi.
Warranty work will not be affected as long as GM is in business.
Powertrain and stamping plants, as well as parts' warehouses that are closing make the same parts as other plants that are not closing.
They are hurt by stupid contracts someone at GM signed with the unions years ago. Also, transplant car companies do not have the legacy costs (retirements, health care, etc.) that GM has at this time. GM won't have that in the future either, since those salaried employees hired in after 1/1/93 do not have a GM back retirement, they base theirs on a 401K.
Unions and GM have to come to grips with health care, pensions, etc. Union should pay the same for health care as salaried employees, and get the same lay off benefit; not this 90 percent of their pay while they sit in a jobs bank for eternity.

Ford is not laying off 40K white collar jobs. GM only has 35-40K white collar jobs and Ford is a lot smaller. Ford is laying off approximately 4K white collar workers next year. GM will be trying to get rid of approx. 3K salaried workers next year. Last year they dumped quite a few.
