I just don't understand why so many people stare...most of the time I can't tell whether it is envy or hate, judgment or attraction. I am the son of a hummer owner (14), and I still poke fun at my dad for buying it. Someone mentioned before that in many cases people will stop talking to you, but I have also made a couple "friends" since I have had the beast.
I mentioned before "someone having their midlife crisis" because that was what I felt the reason was for my dad, who is 55. I said this because I know that he didn't just buy it because he could, but because either he wanted it or he wanted to make up for something.
I remember when we took it to Myrtle Beach, and cruised down "the strip" with the stereo blasting and the windows rolled half way down, and about half of the people that stared looked like they wanted to punch the tires or something.
