If it is over-oiled it can affect some of the engine sensors, thus voiding that PART of the warranty. If no over-oiled it cannot affect the warranty.
However, what I'm trying to figure out is why everyone is going to K&N filters if they intend to off-road this vehicle.
It is a well known fact that paper elements filter more dirt particles than the oil based filters. In addition, from my experiences with a Vette when on a Dyno, the K&N filter added no more horsepower than the stock designed paper filter. In fact, during some runs with some friends, gains were seen with the paper filters over the K&N.
