Things I have found that worked:
1) Better air filter i.e K&N
2) Snthetic oil
3) After market exhaust
all of the above made SLIGHT and quickly forgetable differences.
and if you want your "money's worth" and a REAL difference...
supercharge or turbo charge
MAJOR DIFFERENCE that makes the first 3 options very forgetable...
