Glad you had fun in a mud pit. I did the same and got stuck, but only after powering through every other obstacle that I could throw at the H2. I'm not worried about the alternator, as I will require GM to replace under warranty should I have any issues. No troubles yet, and I've seen mud, snow, and water. GM will honor my alternator since the H2 is intended for off-road use (i.e. exposure to mud) and who's to say I exceeded the 20" fording specification!!!! As clarification for some of the preceding posts, the H2 drives in 4-Hi under normal conditions. I've locked the front Differential numerous times, but only locked the Rear Axle Set once, and probably did not need to do so.
