I have always ran 35 watt HID's in all my vehicles and never had an issue so it is possibly the higher wattage 55 watt kits. I don't imagine the Kelvin of the capsules having anything to do with the heat generated though but it's a possibility.

What is weird though, when I pulled all the wiring and relay harness out of my truck when they were removed I was going over everything. The fuse on the positive wire for the relay harness was completely melted. The fuse inside was still good but the plastic was melted beyond belief. I installed a similar kit in my wife's Jeep Liberty. Hers started acting up and I found one of the terminals on the relay plug had melted through the thick plastic. Something on these kits is pulling too much power to melt all this stuff....
