Most people think "travel" is when the wheels move upward, but it actually is when the wheel can droop downward. If you look at the geometry of the front suspension and how it rest on the bump stops - it will make sense.

So for the front as an example - the Cognito Upper Control arms are constructed so they can droop more than the OEM UCAs. This is why you need the longer shocks
