They do offer the Dirt Grips for 17" rims.
I have the 38's on my truck and have experienced no rub. No lift, a lots of articulation. I have had them off-road several times now and they are wonderful in just about every condition I've had them in (rock, mud, snow/ice)... Not bad on the road either.
Wear, well I can't comment here so no promises. I expect they will wear given there off-road nature.
