I went through all of that hassle with wind noise that had sounded like shattering glass at higher speeds when I had my H3. The dealer had told me it was wind getting under the A pillars and reluctantly replaced them (even though one had a crack in it). That wasn't the fix, obviously. But after talking to one tech soon before I traded in the 3 for the 2 .. he told me it was actually wind getting trapped under the top molding above the windshield. The wind, at higher speeds, would go through where the A pillar touches the top windshield molding. He said the only thing that would stop that would be to wedge in foam. It's hollow under there and once you hit a certain speed it sounds like a calliope.
I basically got fed up with going back and forth to the dealer and having them look at me like I was crazy. So, I lived with it until I finally traded it in. Now I have a rattle in the dashboard.
