Depending on which type you use makes the differance. I used the proportional type. Tekonsha Prumus. Its a higher end controller but it affordes much more latitude in mounting and is the easiest to set up and and fine tune. I mounted mine on the right side of the steering column so as to keep it out of the way as you enter you H3. Also I am right handed and it makes for easy reach to fine tune Most controlers have a mounting range of areond zero to 70 degrees. I found a load of info at
