Most GM BCM's will hold retain codes for 40-80 igition cycles (ignition cycle defined as startup from a temp below a specificed temperature with the engine warming up to another specified temperature). I believe, but cannot verify at this time that the H3 will hold for 80 of these cycles.
The BCM is the main computer and acts as the depository of the codes outputted by other computers. So, there is a good chance if you called onstar right now, they would be able to obtain a code. If so, write it down, and give it to the dealer, just in case the codes are gone by the time you arrive at the dealer.
