We did that in the Army in Nam on A Rough Terrain Crane that had 12 Wheels 6 in the front and six in the back.. The front 6 were stearable.
One day the operator ran over a jagged rock which puncitured the side wall of one of the tires in the front and caused a blow out and the tire jumpped of the bead of the rim as he was still moving and had the wheels cut to the left.
We used 3/4 of a can of either and a rag soked in gasoline to give us some running away time. There was a hell of an explosin...but the 6 foot diameter wheel popped right back on the rim. Patched the side wall and away went.
Talk about a big ass flame.....
