Mobil 1 and RP ATF might be "fine" in your TC, but you will NOT be using an approved fluid and could be a cause for warranty denial. No aftermarket fluid is GM approved and certified as Dexron III.
The only current GM approved fluid for manual transmissions and transfer cases that require Dexron III ATF is GM Manual Transmission fluid part number 88861800 U.S. (88861801 Canada). Period.
