Yes the H2 plant is located on the AM General complex in Indiana so technically it is made by AMG but make no mistake it?s a GM owned vehicle built with GM parts by GM trained employees.

The FJ doesn?t share any parts with the FJ40 after all the last time the 40 was produced was over 20 years ago but at least they are both conventional vehicles that have a steel body and a drive train under the body with at least one solid axle. The HMMWV/H1 is by no means a conventional vehicle it has an aluminum body, a drive train tucked into the cabin, and a fully independent suspension with geared hubs. The H2 has more in common with the FJ than it has with the H1.
