For those of you with the 3rd row seat and don't use it regularly (or have another SUV or minivan with removable seats), where do you store your seats to keep them in good shape and out of the way?

We now have 3 single seats, been keeping them in the garage but they take up a lot of room. I was thinking of putting them in the attic, but there's the heat factor (and visits from gnawing rodents). Wrapping them in plastic seems like a bad idea - trapping moisture, etc. Keeping them in the vehicle is not an option anymore.

Ideas?

Remove all sitting furniture from your house and substitute them with your car seats.

We still use them occasionally, we just use the cargo liner more.

Put them in the attic and let the rats eat them.

Put 'em in the babies room!
He/She will grow up thinking that everyone has 3rd row seats in their room!

I'd be more worried about the rat problem. Gnawing on the seats is one thing but gnawing on yer toes or ears when you sleep is another.

Sounds like you should be taking better care of living conditions than the H2 .

If you don't want to cover it in plastic, just grab a large box and throw it in there...or find one of those rubbermaid containers...there should be one about the right size....it'll keep the rats out, keep most of the dirt out, and allow it to breath somewhat... Of course, there's always the option of strapping it to the roof of the vehicle, it'll keep it out of the way, and you can use it when you really need to. (Just make sure you include some goggles or something for whomever is riding up there...

We keep the minivan's seat under the steps in the garage... with poison around them.
