Hello All, Im the Proud new owner of a 2005 LUX, question about the roof rails?, theres Keys in the glove box that go to the roof rails. What do these Keys do? the dealer didnt tell me if there to remove the rails?, or do they remove the end caps?. sorry to be a newbie.
( Looking forward to learning how to get the most out of off roading in central Calif. (Bakersfield.CA.)

So you can unlock them to remove them from your rig.

Congrats on your new rig and welcome to the forum.

Welcome...

As the guys who posted previously said, they remove the end caps.

From there, you can insert roof rack accessories, such a s a Snowboard Rack like I did. Then lock the end caps back on...

Welcome!

I have an 05 and the keys only unlock the end caps. You can't take the bars off.

I could swear on my 03 the bars flipped up when you unlocked them, but the 05 doesn't.

Congrats on your new rig! Welcome.

The end caps are very useful when escorting drugs that take little space(any of your choice). Dogs have a hard time smelling that high and you simply tell the cops you dont have the key

Welcome to the board.
