Default What makes the best kindling?

My wife and I love to camp but always get into the same old argument - what makes the best kindling?

For years I've preferred the feathers of baby eagles. My wife swears by that black moss-like stuff you see on the ground and attached to rocks. Then again, many of my buddies will simply use gasoline poured over styrofoam and plastic cups.

The debate rages on. Your thoughts?

When in the west, my buds and I use these that have been allowed to dry in the sun. By doing this, we remove the hazards from the trail

I like to snatch a patch of back hair off of CO Hummer, but when I'm alone a few small fresh bird nests work well.

I like to collect folage in the morning, make it into a big pile and just lite a cigarette, toss it onto the dry leaves and take a hike till late afternoon. When I come back I always have a nice fire roaring around.

Cats are excellent for kindling. Wrap them into a ball with twine.

And they're free too. I usually stop off at my local SPCA and adopt one just before I head out on my wilderness trips.

Grasp pussy by tail. Immerse completely in kerosene. Insert nose first under kindling. Ignite.
Get out the marshmallows!!!

Gotta be careful, that stuff can ignite like kerosene.

When Tim's not out buying new Hummers, he usually uses $20 bills.
