Default Highway Robbery

So I was down at ye olde chevy dealership walking through rows of unsold volts, to get to the parts department to see if my manifold bolts for my s10 had came in yet, and figured I might as well get the Fuel Filter strap for my 03 H2, that I noticed had broke a couple months back, so I inquired and he started looking it up...

Turns out that 3-4 inch long plastic strap costs $83.42..... Umm I think I'll make an attempt at fabbing something...

Freggin rediculous

Mine is held in place by one of those velcro straps that you buy to wrap up wires and electronics cables, you know the one's you see in the checkout aisle in Home Depot? I have to say, it works great.

I'm with ya, not down for taking one from the stealership.

Here's a possible $15.00 fix if it works and it's OEM...I've got to imagine the strap is just like the 'older' straps that came on the gas caps before flex fuel and you could yank it off. Beats the hell out of $85+ out the door.

thats why you dont buy parts from a dealer. Bunch of online sources at reasonable prices. gmpartsdirect is one, they're a little slow. There was another site better than them but I cant remember the url.
