How do you fix a 1/4" hole in melamine? It's on a very visible end of a bookshelf. One white, one with that oak veneer stuff.

I'm assuming that one side is white, and the other is face grain oak. If this is what you're dealing with you might want to try this.
The easiest solution: Rockler Woodworking screw caps
There are other ways to do this that are more complete and "seamless" but require a lot more work. I hope that this helps.

some wood fill sand and on the white use a little touch up paint(white nail polish at the $1.00 store)
