Well, I was trying to get a response in first but this F@#KING server is so damn slow

Anyway, I'll play the ******* for now: How is it possible that on that trail (doesn't look that difficult to me at all) that you would have 4 broken halfshafts, 4 fried winches, 3 trucks with body damage AND A ROLLED H1! WTF? That's not easy to do! I'm not even sure if I was trying I could accomplish that much newbyism (new word) on a trail. Damn, we got through Golden spike, potato salad hill, double whammy, tip over challenge etc. etc. without anything broken, no rollovers and only a winch with a knotted line that was pulled out in 5 minutes.

What the hell is the story here? Maybe you flatlanders should stick to the mud puddles like Detonate!

Trail 23 at Windrock is always described as an extremely difficult trail, with huge climbs, loose dirt, and serious side slopes.

I haven't personally run it or MOAB, but comparing the two is retarded. It would be the same as me comparing Barnwell Trails to Katemcy.

Maybe the guy just traded in his H2 for an H1 and suddenly thought he was good at wheelin'.

Well, I don't think the same guy broke 4 half shafts, 4 winches, damaged 3 vehicles AND ROLLED AN H1! I hope the story is just dramatized for effect because I've never heard of such carnage on a trail that I've never even heard of.

The story as it was told to me is that they had to winch three times to get to the area that you see. They broke three half shafts getting to there. The sheer pin, or what ever it is called, that holds the transmission in park sheered off while they were winching through another spot and the H1 rolled backwards and turned over against a tree.

I believe they burned up the four winches trying to get that truck and the rest of them out that night. They also broke a caliper on another truck and had to leave it on the mountain until the next day. They got back at 4:00am in the morning after leaving the other truck.

I wasn't in the group that was running 23 but Det is right in that it is an extreme trail. They ran it last year with similar carnage, less the roll over. This group is the extreme group and most of them have been running these trails for 5 or six years and they can take a H1 about any where it can go.

Well, that's more like it because it makes no sense that the H1 would roll in that situation unless there was no brain to guide it. I still don't understand how 4 winches got burned out. I keep a close eye on mine when I use it to make sure it is cool. If I see too much stress I will back off of it. Maybe we just need more details.

Was anyone carrying half shafts with them? I had all 3 when I went to Moab and thankfully did not need any of them.

You may want to give axelman a shout. He was there but on on the trail with the rollover. He was the one that gave me the count of 10 halfshafts for the weekend.
