My leather seats (front cushions) are looking very worn...only 11,000 mi on my rig...The seats look like they are going to start to crack very soon...I condition and clean them every month...anyone else having these problems..any suggestions...maybe a warranty issue??

I have 15 months and 14,000 miles. No apparent wear or other problems. Also, I have never cleaned or conditioned the leather.

It may have something to do with your conditioner, but I don't know.

Ditto. No problem, 21K in 14 months. Wipe cleaned it 2-3 times lazyman style. Maybe you cleaned and conditioned it too much.

Due to the height of the vehicle, that seat is subjected to a lot of pressure and rubbing on the left front corner when the driver exit the seat, everyday and many times a day. It is holding up very well with no sign of wear and tear.

I have noticed this as well on mine. I have about 10,000 miles and they already look 20 years old. You can really see a difference between the driver and back seat. I also believe it is different leather.

I am taking mine to the dealer today...going to try and get them to replace both passenger and driver side cushions...I too believe some trucks are ending up with better leather...at this rate I would not want to see what my interior would look like with 50,000mi...

Little men must slide off seat and jump from H2.

Usually, what you wear is also a factor.
Jeans, Dress pants in different degrees contribute to the abrasive wear as you constantly exit your rig.

Phil and I wear the Green and Orange suit. These suits will excessively wear the seat.

Maybe TX Red is a little man, I am 6', not that big, average size.

Regarding height, my sitting position seems to be the highest of all SUVs, the only things which come close would be Navigator and that biggest Lexus/Toyota SUV, other those those, I am on top of them all. I like that very muuch.

Even at exit position when the driver seat is retracted to the lowest level, it is inevitable that I'd press down hard on the left front side of the bottom seat cushion upon exit, as my left foot search for the landing, with cowboy boots, 150 Ib body and tube side steps, I'd think the pressure, wear and tear I exert on the seat maybe much less than others.

I have reviwed this matter and studied the alternatives many times after I got the Hummer, exclusively for the purpose of searching for a better way to exit the Hummer without damaging the driver seat, without success. But at least as far as I can see, my seat is still great after 21K.

Sorry Mac, I was not trying to call you a little man -- although you apparently took it that way. I too am only average at 6'00". However, I weigh in at a solid 200 lbs. Thanksgiving holiday did not help me much in that area. Hehe!

Well, I am 6'4" and 235lbs. No problems with the H2, but it has only 6000 mi. on it.

Incidently, my Tahoe did not begin to show alot of wear until 50k. Now it is wearing rapidly.

I have never conditioned any leather seats in the past. I merely wipe them down with a damp rag every so often.

But you guys have me worrying about the seats on the H2. I hate it when you do that.

This is one case maybe being lazy is a good thing. Cleaning and conditioning leather seats is not an easy job, far worse than cleaning inside of the windshield and rear window.
Tx Red, just kidding with you.

I have the same problem, it started at 10,000 miles. My friend had this happen to his yukon and the dealer replaced it. Looks like mine will go in again.

Back onto the subject of pants, it might be that if you use too much fabric softener in your wash, then it can rub off on the seat. This will make the seat wear out sooner.

Just kidding, in case the didn't make it clear enough.

Yes, this is my truck. No, I will NOT help you move.

Just thought about this. The fiance is only 5'4" on a tall day. Maybe that explains the sudden wear on the Tahoe seats. (She drives it all the time and will NEVER drive the H2. )
