I am so please and happy to have bought my 1st hummer. The hummer has gone far beyond what I had expected. I have been following the H3 since it was released last year. This forum has been the best place for information on all aspects of the H3. I got a Victory Red with ebony interior and all the chrome and fixings. Man this is sweet. I did kinda buy it in honor of my dad because he was a fire chief that was killed in August 2004 at a Fire Function. He drove a red blazer(I supersized it) and this is one way I can keep him in my life. Enough of that though.

I do have 1 question however, I checked the center console and noticed there is not a change holder or cd case basket inside just a big open square box. IS this normal. Do they come with anything in the center console? Any help would be appreciated.

BTW..If you own a gm truck you may want to check out my site I have set up to help inform and prevent people from getting hurt or even killed due to a faulty tailgate strap problem.

That is a great question, I noticed when I picked mine upi that there was no basket but I seemed to remember all the ones I test drove having them. The dealer told me they come standard only on the LUX models. I have not pressed the issue that much more but I would like to have one too, esp if it was supposed to be there

Congratulations on your purchase! That was very nice that you did that in memory of your father.

AS far as the console goes. There is a tray insert you can purchase at the dealer for about $20. It basically is a little felt lined tray that slides righ into the console.

I think the "tray" came with all H3's early on but now only come with the lux unless you pay extra for it. My base came with one. I purchased it in jun of 05.

Congratulations, you'll love driving your H3 and find all kinds of excuses to just go out for a drive. I got my H3 in early June and I think they all came with the insert then, as my base did. I guess they've eliminated that now, as well as the chrome roof racks with the chrome package, and built in garage door opener on the lux. I'll bet if you pressed, the dealer might give you an insert. I've looked my roof rails over real closely and they look fine with no cracks.

Let me tell you hummernuts how comfortably numb I was. I road around for about 4 months before I even knew the tray came out and there was more storage underneath. Don't laugh I couldn't have been the only one who didn't know the tray came out. I even considered buying the tray about 2 months ago when there was a trend on this forum about where to purchase the tray.{ I thought everyone were talking about some kind of separator for the tray that held coins and small objects } I never bought the so called tray and last week when I was at the dealer for service I jumped into a base model and noticed there was no tray. I almost slapped myself for being so numb. Keep in mind the day I purchased my H3 the dealership was packed the salesman drove it around front I jumped in without the dealer going over anything and took off.
