i absolutely love my new H3. that said, the only thing i am a little nit-picky about is the leather. i've had the truck for less than a week and i have already noticed 2 small areas where the leather seems to be peeling a bit. almost like i scraped it with my pants getting in. the leather seems to not be very durable...especially for a friggin truck. the leather in my BMW was soft nappa leather and after 4 yrs was just starting to do this. i didn't expect this in 5 days!!!

so, does GM leather pale in comparison?

i'm a little concerned about this.

I have put my seats through hell and back in the H2's. No issues. the H3 has had the dogs in the back seat a couple of times (full grown labs that decided to jumpt into the back seat) and so issues. ??? Did you have something in your back pocket maybe?

Just a reminder, only the actual seating surfaces are leather. The side bolsters; seat and seat back, are most likely vinyl. If you scrape the bolsters as you get in, the color will wear off them.

I have the cloth, and the seams are already tearing.

My first H2 was a 2003. The driver's seat leather looked pretty rough before I traded it at 10,000 miles. Actually, it started looking pretty bad at about 2,000 miles. My 2005 SUT with ebony leather is holding up much better. So I guess it just depends...

I have the cloth too, and with over 6,500 miles and two and half months of heavy use, they still look brand new - but of course, I would expect that. I've found with all my 4 X 4s you have to be careful of the door side lower seams, because with the added height of the vehicle they take extra wear and tear, especially in the lower front of the driver's seat.

Depends on the amount of "woody plants" the cow ate.

Paragon is right. These are animal skins, and they are not perfect. Sometimes you get marks from barbed wire, or even brands.

On the flip side all my H2 seats look/feel very good. I have owned leather in many cars/trucks and find this leather even better than I had in my BMW.
