Pat,
Can it be unlocked manually in case it stops working? And is it just the lighting that's making your rig look so red?

It will be neat to drive down the freeway, you push a button to open then close the fuel door to impress the cars right next to you. Better if you add a Jack-in-the-box inside and have him pop out. Drtyfn, that is not red, that is ORANGE color, and that is not his Hummer, he is showing us the photos of this door.

I suddenly have a sick feeling that when Mac is driving down the highway his retractable rear-view mirrors are in constant motion-- in and out. Ya, Mac, now you just need some escalade bling bling extendable side steps and this gas-cap, and then you could just open and close stuff to the beat of whatever music you are playing inside~!! (britney?). lol. Dude, you are special. I must agree, however- and for only the second time ever-- just for the record, that Mac is correct, Dirty. If you think that the pictures look red, you may want to do a little adjustment to your monitor!!
peace.

Mac,

No...that is my Hummer...and that is my door...last time I checked.

Drty,

There is no manual release that THEY sell. However, I put one on myself (it's easy to figure out). I made it a bitch to get to but it can be done JIC (Just-in-case). I also used a relay instead of a direct wire as they sold it. This allowed me to use a small black push button on my dash. The door makes a very distinct "pop" when it opens. Also, had to switch to a different fuel cap from the one sold with kit. The one that came with the kit had a trap door set up that leaked vacuum after a few fill ups and gave me the old check engine light. Switched to a standard cap and have had no problems since.

Hey Patriot,

Did you buy your fuel door from Adventure Acssrs? I am looking for the black one like you have (have an Orange H2 also), but they only have the chromed version.

Thanks

BAMFH2,

No, I got it here:

http://www.4x4hummer.com/

They had Profit do one in black for me...I think I was the first.

They tried the "black chrome" but it didn't hold up to well to the elements and general use. So they went with the powdercoat black...it is applied very thick and has been great so far.

Terry and Lynne are great people....you can't go wrong there
