Anyone familiar with Monsoon systems. How big is the sub in the back of the H3? How about power? Is it easy to add an amp and another sub or 2 to the existing system?

200 watt. That's all I know. It should sound good for a tock factory system.

Don't know anything about the Monsoon system but was noticing a photo that showed the sub. I believe it was on the HoKC posted last week. Looked pretty small to me based on the photo. I am most likely going to just replace the factory system in H3. Drive a Mountaineer right now that came with the upgraded system including sub. Absolutely no comparison to even a basic aftermarket system.

8" sub is what I would expect from a factory system. That is what my factory system was. Builder, do you have any idea how hard it would be to remove the factory sub and enclosure if you wanted to replace it? If there is room, a 10" would sound a lot better and if it could fit in the factory location, all the better.

It's one unit and I'm not sure what part of it you can get rid of and what part has to stay. But I would imagine that a lot of it is just brackett and you could do what you wanted. I have seen the whole unit, but haven't seen it apart.

I got the 8 speaker monsoon in my vdub, and it punishes anything else stock vs stock i dunno how a 7 speaker setup will be tho i find suv speakers to suck and not cover the ranges well.. and from past performance from GM i will assume the system aint that great.. but doable for most people.... but i like to have loud music so an upgrade may be necessary

Builder,
The sub is an 8" but do you know what the other speaker sizes are? Are the door speakers 6.5"?

I have an Escalade with the Bose system. Is it as good as that? Why didn't GM just use Bose for all of their higher end audio stuff?
