Well after all of the comments on the new H3, my husband and I have received an invitation to go and TEST Drive it on the Test Track at our Dealership.. I think I am going to take them up on that offer to see how well it does. Will my Opinion Change? Looking forward to trying it out...

Do they use the same track as the H2 uses? Will it make the same obstacles (I doubt it )?

I guess I need to read up on the H3's standard features ie: traction control, lockers, approach/departure angles, transfer case etc. etc.

I just did some looking around on the Hummer website. It sounds like they have traction control, rear diff. lock standard. Thats cool. It also looks like they ALL come with a 5 speed MANUAL trans. The 4 speed auto is an option .

I must be reading the info wrong. It's so nice you can't link or cut and paste from the Hummer site .

Dear HummerChic,

I would like to ask a personal favor. I value your posts and your input on this site. I, for one, would not want to suppress your input. Consequently, I am having a really hard time dealing with your signature, "Ok... I'll shut up! " I have no idea who in your life has been telling you need to shut up, but to my knowledge, no one on this site has. Furthermore, when you close with that signature and then continue to post, for me, it calls your credibility into question.

I realize this is a request that I have no right to make of you and it pertains to my issues, not yours. Still, if it isn't too much to request, please at least consider it. Thank you.

Be well,

I believe I might be the blame for that, although I certainly did not tell her to shut up . . . . . . . . . yet.

The mini-site says it can scale a 16" wall...the only thing that may limit it is the approach/departure/break-over angles....

You should drive it where it will be driven and matters most, on the street. My point is if your buying one to scale walls and ford streams and expect it to go where no other vehicle can go then get an H1.

My wife and I went and drive one as she was thinking of trading in her H2. We didn't get more than a mile from the dealership before her mind wass made up to keep the H2. I think she had already decided when she saw how much smaller the interior was, space will spoil ya.

The ride isn't near H2 comfort and ability, so other than a claimed 19 MPG whay would anyone want it over an H2.

Because the price tag is lower, and it will get them in a "HUMMER". There will be many name buyers that can now afford it. I just hope a ton of liberty / grand cherokee / Durango people hop on the H3.

I concure with D/C.

I actually dropped by Ken Batchelor today and testdrove the H3,(Highway only!).
The 1st thing I noticed was the very nice leather interior, and the sweet looking contrast piping.

The H3 definetly drove different than an H2. Not bad different, just different. It drove more like a truck. More utility like, than luxury SUV.
It was very quiet inside, except for the engine noise when it downshifted (More bark than bite!).
The vehicle could definetly use more horsepower, but nothing that can't be fixed with a Colorado based supercharger.

I did notice that there appears to be more than enough space to run 35's. Thanks to the larger fender wells, a small lift may even accomodate 37's. I think with an add-a-leaf or re-arching the rear springs, and torsion lift, 37's would be very do-able.

All in All, I see the H3 as a very well thought out vehicle, and a fun offroad vehicle for the family!

Congrats to all the new H3 owners, and invites to all to test drive the H3. KB has lots to tes drive!
