Solid Axle Conversion??
If not, has or will anything be made to accomplish this?
Good or bad idea?
Re: Solid Axle Conversion??
OMG I'm dreaming again! Maybe
It's fun to dream a little.
Re: Solid Axle Conversion??
I have seriously been looking into it lately.
It would be fairly expensive if you add all the mods to complete it. A SFA in the front would add more articulation in which you would need to allow for in the rear as well. But just because you go with a SAS does not mean you will saw up your rig and try to make it some sort of rock buggy. It would just be bad ass and solid.
A linked high pinion kingpin Dana 60 (Used from an early 90's Ford) and some fabbed coilovers/leafsprings would prolly work. I am still figuring a plan for other adjustments and room for 38's. All without making it look like some uber ghey 80's mullet monster. Not that I will prolly do it, just a dream.

They are on Victory just south of Magnolia in Burbank for anyone in the LA area that's curious. There are always some really nice trucks for sale out front.
