Default Bigger Tires Warranty Question

Hey All,

I have a question about larger tires. This H3 is a lease which I will either buy out or buy the next one (which ever works out cheaper) my big plans are going to be a winch and tires that I can transfer over if needed. I have the 285's that came with the Adventure but would like something with more bite to them. I'm looking at BF AT or MT but I am unsure if I should stick with 33's or go up to 35's. I know that given a problem the dealer must specifically prove a modification caused that problem before they void your warranty on a part (eg an aftermarket radio may void your speaker warranty but not your drivetrain warranty). With the extra weight of 35's on the rotors, tierods, calipers... and such do you see this being a problem or is it such a small amount am I being paranoid?

If anyone wants to chip in on if the MT are siped, thought they weren't but coundn't find it on the website and I will be in the snow (hopefully not to much) in Michigan this winter.

Thanks,

I owned a GMC Dealership for a few years and I never heard of anybody trying to deny a warranty claim due to aftermarket wheels and tires. It's really up to your dealer. They have to bring it up to the warranty adjuster and trust me, dealerships love warranty work. Every lug in the MT is siped by the way.

As far as the tire size, my service guy brought it up once, but I quickly reminded him that they were the ones who installed them.

I was talking about the Toyo Open Country MT, which I highly prefer over the BFG's. I never had a lot of luck out of the BFG's on the Jeep I had. Just my two cents.

Only problem I could see is alignments under warranty, or complaint about the ride height. One person I know thought the rear was dipping too much, and dealer wanted original tire size installed before they would do the critical measurements.
