Default Traction Control

When the traction control is turned off, should a message be displayed on the DIC? As I read in the H3 manual, there should be and the system automatically resets on the next engine start. I am not seeing that light. Thanks.

you do have to hold it down and the message displayed will be "STAB SYS OFF" i think. There will also be a yellow icon in the cluster.

They make it a hold down, versus a touch, to prevent accidentally turning it off.

Should the traction control be on all the time? I have it on my '06 and have never turned it on.

It is always on unless you turn it off as mentioned above (holding down for 5 seconds or so) then in the DIC (same screen that shows you mileage, oil life, etc) will say "Stab Sys Off" and it will kind of flash...there shouldn't be any normal driving conditions that you would necessitate it being turned off...unless you consider doing mud/snow donuts normal driving conditions -- which many on this board may..
