I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
Can anyone give me the part number for the GM navigation/radio that will plug and play in my 2003 H2 with the Y91 option?
I have been told 15800000 but I can't find that number in many places...has any one with the same truck installed one...if so your experience is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
If you want a way better head unit i have been looking at the pioneer avic z3. 3 times the radio for similar price of the gm factory unit. I have seen them on ebay for as low as 1100.00 usd. I am thinking of getting one for my trailblazer ss. Talk to a local install shop and there may even be a wiring install kit available to make it near plug and play. Just a way better option in my opinion

Re: I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
Yea, I have been looking at the aftermarket also, but just not sure about it. The Kenwood DNX-8120 is very nice and uses Garmin for their Nav system, but over $1000 and you still have a couple hundred more in interface hardware and installation.
Question, With the GM system. if you have the nav disc in the player, do you have to take it out to play a music CD? IF so, does the nav system stop working?
Thanks

Re: I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
I have done this setup on two of my trucks. The disc has to be in for the Nav to work. You have to take out the disc for music. You can only put in a non-touch screen nav unit without any significant mods. Any Nav units out of 03-04 H2s and Escalades will work. You will have to take it to a dealership to have the unit unlocked and set to your Vin#. I will look and see if I can find some of my old posts on the subject with part numbers.

Did any O3 H2s come with Nav? I called the dealer a while back and they said the Nav system was not available in 2003. But you know how dealers are, too lazy to look it up.

Nav was only available in 04 and above. When the Nav system is getting programed for your truck you have to select 04 on the tech 2.

Re: I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
I have a Jensen VM9412 and it works fantasticly well for the price. You do have to buy the navigation unit add on but still well under a pioneer or Kenwood unit. It's also ipod/sat radio/backup camera ready, and its easy to navigate the unit. It also has the left right tilt to it. No navigation disc either its all on a memory card and updates are available online. Also rear pasengers can watch dvd, radio, or ipod while front users can use other sources. You can also go for the VM9512 but they do the same it only has blue tooth capability that the VM9412 does not have. You can do the install yourself also and save some coin. Ge the approved wire harness on ebay and your well on your way!!!

Re: I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
i did a complete redo of my system had originally put in the touch screen nav with an aftermarket dvd in my '03
and now i have the DNX-7120 still have my aftermarket dvd but now that gives me 2 choices for the head unit. i like the kenwood better than the stock nav. more choices got my whole setup from tweeters for
1500 including installation, rearview cam, sirius, everything i needed.

I have the Kenwood and I wouldn't go back. I put it in the H1, and the graphics, navigation, and setup are really different the the Pioneer Z2, I can't use that system very easily.

Factory Nav's are going for $200-400 on ebay...
All the current aftermarket systems have some bug on a main feature thats gonna piss you off. Alpines have **** nav, kenwoods have ipod issues, pioneers just suck now.. etc..
I'd wait for the 09 models to come out if you want to dump that kind of $$

Re: I need a straight answer on GM Navigation application.
I bought an OEM 15204335 on ebay. Works great....doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the aftermarket...but does all I need.
Thanks
