Dropped my boat in the water today and parked the H2 and trailer.
After three hours on the water my wife gets a call and we have to leave so we pull the boat back in and I walk to where I parked the car. As I am getting close to my H2 I can hear the air compressor in the back going. The H2 is locked, keys in my hand. I am thinking 'Oh, oh!' Three hours continous air pumping.
So, as expected, I can barely start the car, the battery was almost dead.
Once I started the H2 it says 'Service rear air compressor' but I had to get the boat out of the water. A couple of minutes later the warning disappears and the pumping stops haven't seen it since then.

I remember reading about something similar. How can the car do anything when I pull the master switch (ignition key)? Who thought it was a good idea to let the compressor run after I lock the car and why did it keep pumping in the first place?

The is not the towing vehicle I thought it would be...

It had decided on its own that you were "FULL OF HOT AIR" and decided to pump some out!

It was letting you know that you don't offroad it enough. The first time is a warning...

Reoccuring theme around the H2:
One person's H2 MYSTIQUE is another person's H2 POS.

Hinten,
Join my f'ing "Air Suspension From Hell Club". That was the official reason for the buyback on my first H2. Look at the bright side- at least you didn't have to drive home 400 miles with the rear end sagging.

Hineten:

My compressor would click for a while (30 sec) nearly every time I shut the vehicle off. The owners manual says something about it doing that for a period of time. Mine occassionaly would sag on one side ever so slightly. The dealer finally replaced the compressor brain and I have had no clicking, and the unit works great now.

I assumed that the clicking is just air being released to level out whcih consumes no electricity. My car is doing the opposite, it is pumping air in which does require electricity.

Mine pumps every time I start the truck. Then in pumps again when I pull out the driveway. It pumps occasionally, often, never and almost constantly. I have sprayed soapy water on the bags and fittings. Can't seem to find a leak.
My truck ride height seems to remain the same. I guess random patterns of pumping is just doing what it's suppose to do.

Am I wrong?

Dan from Alabama

I can't just pull it into a dealer and get it checked out. The closest dealer is 2 hours away.

Random pumping is fine, random continous pumping fro more than 3 hours without a key in the ignition turns out to be a problem.

I have a couple customer complaints like this, and, of course, they would not act up for me. Each one got a new controler and never had another problem. One thing that is possable, the relay for the pump sticking, but we have SO little problems with the new relays I usually rule that out.

crash, thanks for joining the board. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever heard of the auto volume function actually working in a H2? I asked this question to the board and nobody's seems to work. There have been TSB about this subject and some have tried to have this function fixed, but none have been successful.

Ok, I just looked up the TSB 03-08-44-004 and it states there is an issue with how the noise cancelation microphone is wired. I will have to play with one that is equiped with the AV feature.
