Just bought a H3 from the states and now have it in Vancouver, BC. Canada. I asked the dealer about changing the odometer from miles to KM's and he said I would I have to change the whole dash. In my Porsche I had to just change the computer program. Anyone know about this??

Not the whole dash, he probably meant just the I/P cluster.

Not sure on price, but it should be an inexpensive cluster, as clusters go. As for removal and install...ten minutes at the most. I pulled mine out in less than three minutes.
One of the easist clusters I have seen for R&R.

Tilt the steering wheel down as far as possible.
Lay a cloth or towell over top of the steering column to prevent any scratches to the trim.
Grab the cluster trim piece at the top groove, and pull straight back, it is held in place with only metal retainers.
You will see four screws, one in each corner, remove the screws.
Remove the cluster, far enough to get your hand back there, and remove the cluster connector. Then remove the cluster.
Reverse removal to install.
