I had one 10 inch JL but I took it back and got an eclipse. I think something was wrong with it.
I am running the single 10 on an JL 400 MONO amp. To me it sounds great but I am not looking for the boom just the clean sound.
I actually turned off the bass boost.

I looked on your site for photos and could not find any with the sub. Can you please post some? I want to see how you mounted it.

While I'm no expert in the car audio department, I do have experience in the home theater realm and if cars are anything like a theater room, then two subs facing each other would completely suck ass.
Being on opposite sides in a somewhat of a corner of the vehicle would cancel some of the bass signals resulting in some seriously weakend bass. However, you could definitely run one in phase and the other out of phase for a push pull design that would probably bring the interior down in the H3. Again, in theory, if it works like it does in the home, you would have either a real ****ty system, or a bad ass one. As with all electronics, tweaking is a must!
Good luck! And let us know how it goes.

More bass?
I have the in dash 6 cd changer Monsoon system and usually have the bass at -3
I did crank it up a couple of times to see what it could do and my 9 year started yelling that his seat was moving
Now my kids yell "turn up the thump". I see no need to add or change out that rear bass, the whole dam truck shakes when it is turned up.

To each his own. What is too much bass for one person is not enough for another. I want to see about swapping the factory 8" for a 10" with a custom enclosure but that is just me. I am not into making a boom ride, just like nice solid bass without having to crank it up. I currently run two 10"s and could rattle the windows in the car next to me at a light if I adjusted it and cranked it up but I wouldn't. I can't stand these idiots that sit at a light with it cranked up and annoying everyone around them. These are the idiots that cause laws to be created against aftermarket systems. It is all about the good clean sound, not the boom.

I don't have any pictures on my website. I just had a custom box built and put it in the back. I keep it from falling over with the OEM cargo cover.
When I ordered my H3 I didn't want the Monsoon system (not that it is bad) I just wanted to interface with my Ipod. So I got a $300.00 Alpine and a $100.00 interface. So the rest of the stuff is just for fun.

i have installed 2 10" diamond audio 2 arc audio amps. my speakers are boston pros 6.5 in front and stock in the rear with a kenwood kvt911dvd indash monitor. the box takes up most of the room so I would like to have a bit more cargo room. I am thinking about taking out the subs

David,
Where did you mount the amps? Is there room under the back seat? I also want to mount a 10" in the side. Does anyone have any idea how much room there is behind the panel? I would consider cutting it up a little to do a custom enclosure so I don't loose cargo space. I am already loosing space going to the H3 anyway.

My JL amp was mounted under the rear seat. But this may not work if you have auto control seat adjustment.
dchou1107 - I don't know how you would mount a 10 inch sub in the side and it sound good. Or at least not sound as good as it could. I know that a box that is just to big may not let the speaker work to the best of its abilities its all about the air. You should have a box. Maybe some 6 x 9 inch in the sides.

One single box gives me plenty of sound and doesn't take up to much space. I installed the wire with quick connect/disconnects so I can take out if necessary.

The cargo cover keeps it from sliding around.

This maybe another stupid question, Why do you need after market woofers/speakers, the H3 delivers a great punch,,
I guess I am not interested in blowing out my Ears, or driving up and down the street going bomp, bomp.bomp, Bomp, Bomp..Bomp

This is all subjective to ones perspective and opinion of what a "punch" is and they find to be ample bass for a stereo.
I will admit the H3s sub system is one of the most impressive for a "stock" car. However, if you would turn up the radio on a really good song you will notice it doesnt perform like an aftermarket sub would perform. The bass gets pretty distorted at high volumes so you have to crank the bass down so it sounds "good" (to me) and now you are getting no more bass out of the sub than what you are getting out of the door and rear speakers hence defeating the whole purpose of having the sub in there.
Now, if you were to put in 1 or 2 nicely installed JL 10s with a JL 500/1 mono amp you can turn the amp up to about 1/2 and the gains down on the head unit and you will hear a REALLY nice clean bass sound that yes is "louder" than the stock sub but not over bearing to take the windows out. Also, if you decide to turn up that favorite song while on the road to enjoy it you will have a REALLY nice loud non-distorted bass sound to go with your realy nice sounding stock system. Once you hear it you will totally understand what I am saying and would never question "why do it" again.
And, if you wanted to (and I rarely do) you do have the option to crank up the gain on the head unit and really cause some vibration =)

Like I said ealier in this post, I did not want to spend the extra money on a monsoon system so I spent the extra money and got a nice after market Alpine with Ipod integration. I did not have factory "punch" speakers so I got a 10 inch sub and amp. This amp and sub lets this speaker control the low range more efficiently and makes the whole system sound cleaner. not louder blowing out ears just clean like the way the music was intended to sound.
